Not what you would expect. - 1/3/2008
In my opinion, the Parachute area is not that great. There is nothing to do anywhere near here. I moved out here thinking I could just drive to Denver now and then to see a show or go to a museum, but thats not the case. In the winter, the expressway that connects us to Denver is freqently shut down. And as for a culture here, there isn't any. When a lot of people think of Colorado they think of prestine lakes and beautiful mountain views. Well, we don't have either. There are no lakes in parachute, and for the mountain views, well, they are blocked by the massive oil wells that dot the landscape here. Garfeild county has the most oil wells in the state. And renting is another facter. In the year that I have lived here, the rent at my apartment has increased to more than a hundred and fifty dollars more than when I moved here. You could rent a nice little apartment in Boston for what I pay for a one bedroom in the middle of nowhere Read More
