Simsbury, Connecticut is a pleasant New England town situated in the Farmington Valley. It’s made up of beautiful parks, family-friendly restaurants, and many shops for visitors to explore. Residents enjoy living in Simsbury due to its excellent school system and abundance of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed year-round. The town has been highly reviewed for its quaint charm and scenic views – whether hiking through the Metacomet Trail or taking a leisurely stroll through Talcott Mountain State Park. In addition, many people rave about the numerous festivals and events offered throughout the year including Taste of Simsbury, the Snowflake Festival, and Celebrate Simsbury. Visitors can also take advantage of a wide range of recreational opportunities from golfing at one of the four courses to kayaking on the Farmington River. With so much to do year round, it’s no wonder why so many are raving about this small New England town!

We've lived in Simsbury for over 24 years, relocated here by choice because of the small town feel and quality of education. nice, but expensive... - 6/22/2009
I lived in Simsbury for 1 1/2 yrs. The cost of housing as a whole is expensive. Homes are a bit more than surrounding areas, but the property tax is what drives up the cost. Last time I looked, the mill rate was around 35.0. Neighboring Suffield is about 24, with Windsor Locks even lower. It can really drive up a house payment. But there are a lot of amenities for the cost.
It's a beautiful little town, busy to drive through because it's on a main thoroughfare to points south. Lots of eateries, great place to walk, new kids park, summer concerts, ice cream, boutiques, good schools, wonderful library. But it is also Yuppieville. So if this appeals to you, great.
