Unsophisticated - 3/22/2018
Smyrna, like any town other than Newark, is very unsophisticated, boring, unfriendly, and uneducated. I've resided in many states and Delaware will be the state that I never miss. When I cross that bridge I will never look back. It offers NOTHING! It may have low property taxes but it has some of the highest utility rates in the nation. As a matter of fact, in most cases, you must buy your power from the towns in Delaware and the rates are astronomical. Everything here is owned by a monopoly. It speaks of having no sales tax but its own residents know NOTHING of its Gross Receipts Tax which is, in my opinion, worse than an exposed sales tax. It's the greatest deception perpetrated on an unwitting populace. Delaware has the worst beaches I've ever experienced. The water that washes up on the shores of the Delaware beaches comes from the mouth of the Delaware River. This is why the water is brown and silty as well as nearly vacant of the salt smell that I love in a resort area. See for Read More

The teachers communicate with you whenever you have questions or concerns and I like that. They just started to expand the high school and some of the other schools around the area because of the new students moving in every year. The only bad part about Smyrna and Dover is that there isn't much to do. You have to travel to Philly, Baltimore, or DC to do anything. Personally I would like something in the area to do every once in a while. I like Smyrna for the schools and my Read More
