from farm town to urban area - 7/6/2016
One of the few areas in the Tampa Bay region that there is abundant land, not for long, this place is seeing urban sprawl in the last 3 years like no other in America. 500 percent population increase since 2000. Strip Malls, apartment complexes, housing developments and townhomes anywhere there is a space. The only thing the roads cant hold the additional traffic. There is no quality life here the traffic is terrible, crime has increased and its become almost a foreign country. ?I would not suggest moving to Riverview/Brandon area. Read More

Too many empty houses... - 4/26/2011
We've lived in Riverview for 4 years now, and our neighborhood is about half empty, and has been as long as we've been here. Almost all the houses are rentals, which is obvious from the state of the yards, ours is no exception unfortunately. The neighborhood was built during the boom, the houses all have "issues", the yards are all sand under the cheap grass, it's going to take a lot of work, and a lot of money, to save this area! I have to say, though, the schools are great, and the people are Read More

Alot of newer communities there - 4/25/2011
Originally from Upstate NY, we moved to Riverview which I enjoyed being in newer developments. Convenient to everything, Siesta Key, Disney, Clearwater, Macdill AF. Living in a gated community is a must if you have higher standards. There are some really good housing deals out there. I didn't care for the schools compared to NY. We moved back to NY. If I move back it will be Valrico which is near Read More

riverview - 3/25/2009
I am a native to florida. We moved to Riverview in 1982 from Ocala. It has had alot of growth since Interstate 75 was finished in early 90's. This encouraged alot of growth because it made the commute into Tampa easy. We are away from alot of the noise and bustle of neighboring suburbs. They are currently in the process of widening Hwy. 301 which is much needed. Alot of nice shopping plazas have popped up allowing us not to have to drive as far for things. I know you can't stop all the growth in Florida. I don't even like it when it gets cold here I can't imagine what northerners put up with. I think most people you meet anymore really aren't even from Florida. But I think we for the most part try to be polite and friendly. As far as an earlier comment on us being poorly educated and bad drivers,I only wish that would run everybody off. Wow, then we could go back to our quiet rivers, lakes and ocean spots. We might even wave at a stranger and walk over and start a conversation. Oh, Read More

Florida is awful as a whole, but Tampa is even wor - 2/6/2007
I had never in my life seen so many weird people gather up at one spot. Tampa is packed with lowly educated people and also the worst driver's I've ever seen. Went there for a possible relocation, ended up going back home two months later. Everywhere I went was the same repeated. Once you are done with Miami and Orlnado it's the most boring place Read More
