Arcadia, is one of Florida's hidden little gems. It has a lot of southern charm, amiable residents, and beautiful homes and ranches. There are many fruit and vegetables available throughout the year, orange groves being plentiful. There is not too much entertainment, save for a couple of rodeos, during the year, BBQ cookouts, pageants, several parades, and a county fair.
Although, it is a small town, it has a good geographical location, making it easy to drive to bigger nearby Read More

Arcadia is fine! - 3/3/2010
I have a house in the Lake Suzy area of Arcadia. The weather is great. The thing I like most about this area is the diversity. From my house I can drive 10 minutes north and be out in the middle of cow country.A little further to the northwest and I'm at the Myakka River State Park. That place is cool! If I head to the southwest, there is every kind of shopping and eating establishment you can imagine ( there's even a great comedy club/restaurant called Visani fifteen minutes from home ).Going south brings me to Charlotte Harbor and all it has to offer. If I head west I'm lying on the beach by Venice. And 4 minutes to the east there is a launching ramp to the Peace River. There are golf courses all over and the rodeo comes to town! There is plenty to do around here and one of my favorites is just sitting in my lanai taking in the nature with a fan blowing down on me.I think it's a great place to Read More
