Citrus Springs in Florida is a small suburban community known for its affordable housing and peaceful atmosphere. It is located in Citrus County, about an hour's drive from the popular city of Orlando. The town is home to around 8,000 residents and offers plenty of outdoor recreational activities, such as golfing and fishing. However, like any other place, Citrus Springs has its own unique pros and cons that are reflected in the many user reviews found on BestPlaces.net.

According to user "Holly" from Tennessee, who has lived in Citrus Springs for over 5 years, the town is "a great place for retirees or anyone looking for a slower pace of life." She also mentions the "friendly and welcoming community" as one of the highlights of living in Citrus Springs.

On the other hand, user "John" from Florida has a different perspective. He states that Citrus Springs is "too quiet and boring" for his taste. He also adds, "There's not much to do here, and you have to drive quite far to get anywhere else."

In contrast, user "Liz" from Georgia praises the affordable housing in Citrus Springs. She says, "Compared to other cities in Florida, the cost of living here is very reasonable. I was able to buy a great house at a fraction of the price." She also mentions the low crime rates as another bonus of living in the town.

However, not all reviews are positive. User "Mark" from New York shares his disappointment with the lack of job opportunities in Citrus Springs. He says, "Unless you work remotely or are retired, it's difficult to find decent job options here. I had to commute to a nearby city for work, which was not ideal."

Overall, user reviews on BestPlaces.net provide a diverse range of opinions about living in Citrus Springs. While some enjoy the peaceful and friendly community, others find it too quiet or lacking in job opportunities. However, most agree on the town's affordable housing and low crime rates, making it a desirable place for many.

A great place to live - 12/3/2008
Citrus Springs is a very nice place to raise a family and have access to nature. It's close enough to some major cities Ocala 25 minutes, Tampa 1.5 hours, and Orlando 1.75 hours to have access but not be subject to the stress of larger cities. We have bike trails and rivers and the gulf coast and rolling hills. The only difficult thing around here is there aren't many jobs. If you have a retirement income or pension it's a great place to live and it's very Read More

Too Little - 8/12/2007
If you like living away from everything and where there is very little diversity in life but fishing than Citrus Springs is the place for you. The subdivision is huge but the growth has not happen as quick as I would prefer. The schools are adequate but we are receiving a new elementary which will give us two and soon a high school will be up and running. There is a middle school with after school care which is a great feature for the households with two working parents or a single parent. Unfortunately, there is not enough here to keep our kids entertained and out of trouble. It is still a growing community and with the new Sunbelt Parkway that will help Citrus county be more accessible to Tampa and soon to Read More

Wonderful place to live - 3/14/2007
To me, Citrus Springs is a wonderful place to live. It is very safe, with very low crime rate. Most crimes reported in Citrus Springs are of the domestic nature or stealing from construction sites of houses being built.
It is a very quiet community where we have friendly neighbors, always willing to give a hand. Everywhere you go in Citrus Springs, people speak. All ages of people, from the very young to the very old live here and everyone is very polite. It surely never hurts that the sun is shinning most of the days of the year. Nice relaxing, laid-back feeling here. We have a very nice paved, 46 mile trail that goes through Citrus Springs and beyond. There are also public tennis courts and a nice park with playground, basketball court and baseball diamond, and 2 golf courses. There is an Elementary and Middle School here, as Read More
