You could get off the turnpike go west and see nothing but parcels of land and cows all the way to Clermont along Highway 50 (E. Colonial), pop. 4,500. Someone got the word out about this quaint little town and it's not like that anymore. The good ol' boy network does not seem to thrive as it used to, but this is still the South. Clermont is in the middle of the State of Florida both horizontally and vertically. Most religions have local worship, except those that are not Christian based, maybe soon a synagogue.

Clermont is about 40 minutes west of Orlando and 40 minutes South of Lady Lake. Clermont is the largest city within Lake County, over 22,000 pop. There are three major lakes, Lake Minneola, Lake Minnehaha and Lake Louisa, boating, skiing, wake boarding, an occasional dinghy. Living in Clermont has it's ups and downs - 11/29/2007
I moved to Clermont in February of '07. I love the fact that there are so many hills. Considering most of FL is flat it's refreshing. Going biking on the South Lake trail is very nice. That being said. It is pretty busy as far as traffic is concerned. There are certain parts of Clermont that are not very nice as far as communities are concerned. There is only one High School for a city that has grown by leaps and bounds. I would say Clermont is growing and in a couple of years it will be an okay place to live and raise a Read More

Clermont the Place to Be - 10/3/2007
Clermont is difinetly a beautiful area to live. It does have the rolling hills. You practically do not have to leave the area to do anything and I mean anything. The stores are there, sidewalks, restaurants, and the coming attractions will be a movie theatre. The view is to die for and the people are nice and pleasant.

Although I admit at one point there was a lot of traffic on HWY 27 but they have increase the roads to 3 lanes and traffic has become less of a problem. The good thing is that you have various alternatives to reach your destinations, I4, Florida Turnpike, HWY 192, HWY 50 west colonial.

Post office convenient, cleaners, Dr's office, Hospitals, again Clermont is the place to be and I am from NY a true City girl. Not to mention Downtown Orlando is becoming very trendy can't wait for the final transformation in that area. I can write these things because I live Read More

Once a beautiful and peacefull town with rolling hills. Urban sprawl has taken over and congestion now dominates the area. Modest home prices have blown out of proportion and makes it very difficult for the average family to afford a home in the area. Traffic is unbearable and the crime level i Read More
