It's home, but I'm concerned & considering leaving - 6/12/2007
The greater Orlando area (which includes Conway, my little section) has been experiencing tremendous growth. Unfortunately, we have not managed it well. Most roads cannot handle the existing traffic, and upgrades currently being done will be obsolete the day they finish. New housing is sandwiched in together. We also seem to have a sky rocketing crime rate - so bad the Federal government has send task forces from the ATF & FBI to assist in addressing. I have been here nearly 30 years, and completed all my schooling in Central Florida. Truly the direction we are going breaks my heart. But now that I have two children of my own, I am very concerned about the environment in which they will be raised. At this point in time all signs point to Orlando becoming just like Miami - do your research and think carefully if you're planning to relocate
