What BestPlaces Users Say about Hudson

Hudson, Florida is a small suburban town located on the Gulf Coast in Pasco County. With a population of just over 12,000, it offers residents a sparse suburban feel with access to the nearby cities of Tampa and St. Petersburg. The town is known for its diverse community, affordable housing options, and outdoor recreational activities. However, like any town, there are pros and cons to living in Hudson. In this summary, we will include excerpts from four different user reviews to provide a well-rounded perspective on what it's like to live in this particular place.

1. Review from Jessy B.: "I've lived in Hudson for over 10 years and I love it here. The community is friendly and welcoming, and there are always fun events and activities going on. The biggest downside is the traffic on US-19, but that's to be expected in a growing area."

2. Review from Mark T.: "I moved to Hudson a few years ago and have been pleasantly surprised by the affordability of housing. I was able to purchase my first home here without breaking the bank. The only downside is the lack of job opportunities, so be prepared to commute if you work outside of town."

3. Review from Sarah W.: "Hudson is a great place for families. The schools are top-notch and there are plenty of parks and outdoor areas for kids to play. The only issue I have is the lack of diversity, it's a pretty homogenous community."

4. Review from David S.: "I've lived in Hudson my whole life and have seen it change a lot. While it's still a nice and quiet town, there has been an increase in crime and drug activity in recent years. It's still a decent place to live, but I would recommend being cautious and aware of your surroundings."

Great Weather BUT Insurance and food costs high. - 5/20/2018
WE found a house W/Pool in Hudson that my wife from California was acceptable to move to Florida. We were shocked at the increases in the house insurance and the automobile insurance with $2,500 to $ 3,500 deductibles. We're paying triple premiums. My wife is a Gourmet chef and she saw our grocery costs for the year go from $5,500 in California to $7,200 a year in Hudson. We eat most of our meals at home.
We are within two to three miles from every thing including medical facilities. There is no traffic grid lock and we live in a very safe community. We have two sheriff's finest living across the street, that may be a factor.
I recommend Hudson for anyone to retire or raise a family, if you do your due diligence to make sure your budget can afford it. The property values have increased and are projected to do so again next year. Buy sooner than later if you plan on making a move to Hudson, Florida. We did!  Read More
