Middleburg not that bad - 1/13/2013
There are a lot of people on here writing pesimistic views of the Jacksonville area. All I can say is that it's really what you make of it. We moved here from Southern Maryland, about 45 minutes south of DC. If you live in Middleburg, you're resigning to the fact that you are going to commute to everything, and if you're alright with that, you can find a lot of house and property for a small amount of money. We purchased our very nice home in a nice community for $145k. The same house would have cost us $500k in Maryland. I don't think the job market here is as generous as it is up north, but that's the trade off we made. Middleburg has a lot of upgrades happening right now with new hospital, new shopping areas moving in, road expansions making it more accessible to neighboring communities, and the FL toll road 21 in the works. We found that right now is a great time to buy a house in Middlburg as there is a serious growth explosion about to happen in this area in the next 5 Read More
