What BestPlaces Users Say about Spring Hill

Spring Hill, Florida is a mid-sized town located on the Gulf Coast, about an hour and a half north of Tampa. It has a population of approximately 100,000 residents and is known for its affordable cost of living and year-round warm weather. However, like any city, there are pros and cons to living in Spring Hill. Let's take a look at what some users have to say about their experiences living in this town.

According to user reviews on BestPlaces.net, many residents of Spring Hill praise the town for its overall pleasant atmosphere and sense of community. Some reviewers mention the abundance of outdoor activities and close proximity to beaches as major bonuses. One user, Jason, says, "Spring Hill has a small-town feel with all the amenities you could ask for. There's always something to do, whether it's fishing, boating, or simply enjoying the beautiful weather." Another user, Sarah, adds, "I love the nature and wildlife here. It's a great place to raise a family and there are plenty of parks and recreational areas for kids to play."

However, not all reviews are positive. Some users mention issues with traffic and a lack of job opportunities. A user named Matthew states, "Traffic can be a nightmare, and there aren't many job options here. You may have to commute to another city for work." Another reviewer, Linda, shares a similar sentiment, saying, "I moved here for the affordable housing, but it's hard to find a good job. I've had to commute to Tampa for work, which can be exhausting."

There are also mixed opinions on the quality of schools in Spring Hill. While some users praise the public schools for their strong academics and dedicated teachers, others express concerns about overcrowding and safety. A user named Maria writes, "My kids have had great experiences in the public schools here. They've received a quality education and have been able to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities. However, I do worry about the large class sizes and some instances of bullying." On the other hand, a user named John shares, "I have had to enroll my children in private schools because I didn't feel comfortable with the public schools in Spring Hill. I wish the education system here was better."

Overall, the majority of user reviews paint a positive picture of living in Spring Hill, Florida. The town's warm climate, welcoming community, and affordable cost of living seem to be its biggest draws. However, some issues with traffic, job opportunities, and schools are worth considering for those interested in moving to this area. As with any city, it's important to do thorough research and visit the town yourself to determine if it's the right fit for you.

Spring Hill, Get what you pay for... - 6/25/2008
You truly get what you pay for in Spring Hill. The reason so many move here is because housing is lower than many areas. That is why I did. I could no longer afford the prices in Pinellas County. But there is very little public service, bare minimums. Very little public transportation and the schools are good but not state of the art. But I pay lower property tax, no city tax, no state tax and lower sales tax. You have to realize that when you pay more, you get more. I love my neighborhood and my children are Read More

Spring Hill, FL - 9/14/2007
In my personal opinion, I do not enjoy living in this town. I was moved here by my parents about 8 years ago. Since then it is booming with families(used to be more for retired people). Unfortunately, there is next to nothing here besides subdevelopments and shopping plazas. Overcrowding is a big issue in the school districts. On a positive note, it is close to Tampa(about an hour on the veterans expressway). My husband and I miss the "Old South" and "Southern Hospitality". Maybe it's dead, but we are searching. Looking to move in a year, need some advice about towns in NC worth looking into. Thank Read More

When we were about to move here, from MD, 3 years ago, a lot of my MD buddies were telling me that we'll hate the humidity. I don't find it any more humid than MD was. It's just humid for a longer period of time. As far as heat goes, MD had heat waves when the temp would be around 100 for a week or more. It rarely gets above the low 90s, even in July and August. No snow. I play a lot of baseball, and I love being able to play 12 months a year. From July to Nov, we may get an afternoon storm, but it dries up right away. Rainouts are Read More

NICE & QUITE - 10/14/2006
I have lived in Spring Hill for 6 years. My neighborhood is very quite. If you like to keep to yourself Spring hill is a good palce to live. Neigbors do not talk much to one another. Spring Hill is a safe town not very much violent crime. I live alone and I feel safe. Biggest problem for me is the best jobs are in Tampa so you have to comute 100 miles a day round trip, that gets old. Also the Insurance rates in Florida are out of the roof and taxes are bad also. Other than what I just said Spring Hill is a nice Read More
