Too many hicks - 4/2/2018
People here are very rude. Cheap place to live, quiet and not over populated. Traffic is good, lots of places to eat. Not much to do compared to pinellas. Houses are big size for affordable price. Place somewhat clicking. Wouldn't recommend for social Read More

Looking to purchase a winter home. - 5/25/2014
I am looking to find a winter home. I was told Spring Hill was a nice area to buy in, but anywhere near there is fine. Want a reasonable price home and area.

Living in Spring Hill - 8/22/2012
Some parts of Spring Hill are rather nice. Some are indeed poor, and run down. Not difficult to find a nice area. I live in Spring Hill. Close enough to go to Tampa, or my favorite beach, Honey Moon Island. I would rather live in Land O Lakes, (which I have)or if one could afford Palm Harbour.I work in Lecanto, Fl. Co-workers love the area, as well as Inverness. Which are more of a country area, very pretty. Brooksville, while pretty, is not a great place to live. Nothing to do, and becoming run down. One block can be nice, and the next block horrible.I really love Clermont, Fl. So beautiful, rolling hills, water. Lots of roof tops, but still love it there. Lived there couple of Read More

Best place to live !! - 6/30/2012
The best place to raise children. The town is quiet. The people are great. Shopping is close and convenient. I moved from Cleveland Ohio to Tampa and I could not get out of Tampa fast enough. My husband got a job at Salishan and it was the best move I made!! If I had to relocate I would love to bring this town with me. Read More

What it's like for a family to live in Spring Hill - 12/31/2011
My family and I have resided in Spring Hill, Florida for over ten years. When we first moved here, the Suncoast Parkway just opened up and many young families were moving in. These families were a lot like us at the time - young, just getting started, and in search of large but inexpensive homes. The area grew rapidly. Shops and restaurants sprang up every where. When the recession hit, Spring Hill, like the rest of the country, was hit pretty hard. People lost their jobs. Homes went into foreclosure. Businesses began closing. Although Spring Hill isn't what it was several years ago, people are still moving here and the area is still functioning.

I am writing this from the perspective of a well-educated wife and mother. I am also a teacher and have a good grasp of the school system here. If you are thinking of moving to Spring Hill and have children still living at home, I hope you will find my post useful.

Don't come here looking for work! - 11/28/2009
I moved from Ohio in 2005 to build a new life here in Florida....bad move!
Don't come here looking for work...unless you intend to sleep on the beach.

Living in spring Hill, Fl. - 3/7/2009
Spring Hill is a growing community which is best describe as a retirement community. Although there are a few businesses here the main source of income comes from retail and construction. These businesses are experiencing a lost of business at this time but when the economy was good, they provide a good resource for work.
The cost of living in this area is relatively high and I suspect that the areas living costs will continue to increase over the next few years as the state continues to deal with a lost of revenue due to the economic conditions. Right now it is costing me as much if not more than it did to live in Middletown, New York only 7 years ago.
Little happens in this bedroom community but crime seems to be increasing the more the recession strenghtens.
Other than that, there is not much to say about the laid back Read More

Hey! It's not THAT bad! - 8/24/2008
This is a small town. We don't pay city, county or state income taxes. Many retirees in the area keep the money out of services that would normally be available to a community with more families.
But housing costs are low, you can actually afford to live in the area and own a nice home. My 5/3/2 with a large pool on a beautiful lot just appraised for $225,000. Where else in Florida are you going to get that?
The schools are improving as the population grows. More stores are moving up here too. We do lack any kind of nightlife, so if you are a young adult you wold be bored out of your minds around here.
We have fishing, canoeing, large state parks, 9 months of swimming weather, and Weeki Wachee Springs.
We have the Brooksville Raid (the south's largest civil war reenactment)and Swampfest. And don't forget...Disney, Sea World, Bucsh Gardens and more are just 60-90 minutes away.
Why don't people understand that if you pay less you get less? Don't move to Read More
