Harlem Growth and Life - 7/20/2020
We found this area due to a military transfer via Fort Gordon. (2007) We were looking for a place that wasn't on top of the post, that had racial diversity, decent school system for our high schoolers, and quiet.
The main intersection of two roads which make up the center of Harlem were picturesque. Small shops and small businesses were neatly displayed with a train track running in the center. It was well manicured. They had a display of holiday lights (when we first saw this it) and it felt charming.

And I have met a lot of people and been to a lot of places since I was in the Navy. We have a Mayor who is personally benefiting from the new public safety building that is being built. Our previous Mayor just got convicted of molesting his adopted daughters. Before that, the head guy at the water department dumped sewage in our drinking water supply. He just got out of jail.

The only part of the city that looks halfway decent is about 3 blocks on the Read More
