It's meh, OK, but we're not staying... - 2/1/2019
Ok, Mableton is in Cobb county, one of the more progressive counties in the metro ATL area. And by progressive, I mean trying to improve its community for the better. There are pockets of higher crime as it is adjacent to Atlanta and Fulton county. The more affluent cities in Cobb are Smyrna, Marietta, Roswell and areas generally referred to as east and west Cobb. Mableton is an affordable community, but it does NOT carry the snob factor that other parts of Cobb county project. On the positive side, lots of jobs, home values are rising, the immediate area is home to Amazon distribution center, FedEx and UPS hub. Home Depot is HQ'd in Cobb county, as is Lockheed-Martin. On the negative side, crime, primarily property, however as ATL is so close, there is an overflow of violent, drug and related crimes as well. Traffic to the locals is bad.
