What BestPlaces Users Say about Marietta

Marietta, Georgia is a city located in the Atlanta metropolitan area with a population of around 60,000. It is known for its charming downtown area, top-rated schools, and affordable cost of living compared to other cities in the area.

According to multiple user reviews on BestPlaces.net, Marietta is a highly desirable place to live with a diverse community, strong sense of community, and plenty of amenities for families and individuals. One reviewer, Samantha, describes it as "a great place to raise a family with plenty of parks, good schools, and a friendly atmosphere." Another user, John, praises the city's location, stating "Marietta is close enough to the city for easy access to entertainment and job opportunities, but still has a small-town feel."

However, there are also some drawbacks mentioned by reviewers, such as traffic and the cost of housing in certain areas. As Mary states, "traffic can be a nightmare during rush hour, especially on the major highways." Another user, Jake, adds "while the majority of Marietta is affordable, some neighborhoods can be quite expensive, making it difficult for lower-income families to find affordable housing."

Despite these issues, many reviewers still highly recommend Marietta as a place to live. As Lizzy states, "I've lived in Marietta my entire life and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. The sense of community here is amazing and there's always something to do. Plus, the schools are top-notch." Overall, it seems that Marietta offers a great balance of a small-town feel with access to big-city perks, making it a popular choice for many residents.

The Atlanta area is quite large. The traffic and crowds prevent one from really being able to enjoy going to anything offered. The nicest people become irrate and extremely rude drivers as the pressure of commuting finally wears them down. I can honestly say I have enjoyed less while living in Atlanta than I did when I lived in a town of 5,000 people in southwest Kansas.

I need more than a house. - 10/9/2005
I lived in Mableton, GA for four years. Everybody says come to GA you can get a house, but I needed more than a house for my family and myself. The H.S. basically repeated the required subjects under different titles and are the second worse schools in the USA. The people were very rude and disrespectful and times, but on the other hand there were some very good down to earth people as well. The churches were very nice. Another positive thing I can say about GA is that the Hope Scholarship is a great progam. If you graduate from a GA H.S. with a' B ' average, you can go to any college in GA for free.
