I've enjoyed living here - 8/7/2019
I have a different perspective of living here. I moved her from a large city and I appreciate the fact that I have no commute, the cost of living is very low and the schools are well run. It's been a good place to raise a family. I have had success career wise here and there are opportunities for entrepreneurship here too. Like any place, it is what you make of it. I enjoy nature and the city back up onto the Okefenokee Swamp. When I want to see something different - Jacksonville, Valdosta, Savannah and Brunswick are a short trip away. Orlando and Tampa aren't far either. The city is close to several beaches but not so close that you'll be terribly affected by hurricanes. Natural disasters are not a big issue here. It's hot as heck, but I love the heat. No snow - great by me. People are friendly. As for complaints about crime and drugs - that's everywhere but it hasn't affected my life because that's not the circle I run with. You see the stars at night, you don't have to worry Read More

Worst place I've ever been in the South! - 5/21/2019
One time in Waycross and will never visit this God forsaken town again. Cops are high school (22-24yr old) bullies that make up lies and harass rather than serve and protect. Harassed my daughter and threw her in jail for making a u-turn. Accused her of four different violations which were made up. Would not listen to her and called her a liar. Her uncle was a first responder policeman during 911 and she also endured the Sandy Hook School shooting as an alumni. She had respect for cops but lost all respect for Waycross bullies. Just more trauma in her life. Way to go Waycross!!! I give Waycross ZERO Read More

I was born and raised here in the heart of the good ole south in Waycross, Ga. Not much has changed except for the number of meth labs, drugs in general, thugs and racial disharmony. Whites hating blacks and blacks hating whites is the general consensus, kids are taught to hate whatever race they are not. I am really ashamed to be a part of this community and of the general ignorance that permeates the entire area.

I am seriously considering a move out of the whole state of Georgia! You're taxed to death here, not to mention the shameful scandals always going on with government officials either stealing, sexually assaulting, or other newsworthy acts of criminal behavior. Goodbye Wayx! Email me anytime if you want any further details of this lovely southern town. bree_southerncharm @yahoo.com Read More
