Algonquin has really changed and grown, especially west algonquin. Politically though it leans conservative. That has not changed. People are nice though and they are really building up. Schools are great and plenty to do. Low crime area where I live. Read More

Algonquin Illinois - 2/21/2007
Algonquin is a far northwest suburb of Chicago north of Elgin IL off of I90. The western part of Algonquin has shown significant growth and expansion over the past few years as real estate is resonably priced for Chicago area (Randall Road corridor). Every available retail outlet is available and more springly up every day. School system is good (Huntley) and there are a lot of young families in the area. The old Algonquin downtown is showing signs of revitalization alone the Fox River. East Algonquin has been slower developing and less retail available to residents thus requiring a drive (~5 miles) to the western part of town off of Randall and Algonquin Roads.

If you are looking for somewhere to move in the Chicago suburbs, this just isn't it anymore. 17% higher on average cost of living and a pathetic school Read More
