A good, if not boring place to live - 2/1/2014
I've lived here since the population was 6,100. Now it's around 13,000 in town. Very small town. Generations, mostly white republicans are rooted here 2-3 families deep. Pretty good schools, super low crime. Not much to do though. The town is a classic Main Street strip with a one theatre movie showing, dunkin donuts and town bars. Lots of alcoholics live here. There is a large system of lakes surrounding the area called Chain o Lakes where everyone spends their summers boating. That's the highlight. Our house is 19 yrs old, about 1/2 acre, 1700 sq ft and we paid $202,000 for it. Taxes are high. Weather Read More

Spring starts to kick in around late March and seems to last forever. From mid March to the end of May temperatures range from the upper 20's to the low 60's. Most of April is usually cold and rainy. June and Spetember are temperate while July and August can be very hot and Read More
