Northbrook = Jewish and Russian snobs - 7/28/2021
Northbrook is a great place if:
1.) You're Jewish
2.) You're Russian
3.) You're raising a family
Other than that, it's a stuck-up, sleepy, basic midwest suburb. Overpriced for such a basic, boring place. I've lived many places across the US and in IL. I used to live near the Wisconsin border and those were true friendly midwesterners. Time for me to move

down to earth? - 5/24/2010
I grew up in Northbrook and while it's a beautiful community with a nice downtown, parks, train, great quality schools, to say that it's down to earth is a bit of a stretch. This is an affluent suburb where kids are expected to wear designer clothing and have nice cars at the age of 16. It is also a pretty homogenous community.
