The Flaws and Strengths of Palatine - 8/10/2022
No town is perfect. One flaw in Palatine are that it lacks enough updated, healthier food restaurants. A more serious flaw is that the elementary district does not have the kind of unity between teachers and administrators that is needed to run a more effective educational program. A 3rd flaw is that that some of the apartment areas are not as safe as they need to be. On the upside, Palatine is an overall neighborly town that has some fun events and is a safe place to live. There are bike and walking paths, wonderful parks, and a solid park district program. Grocery shopping options are many. Traffic when compared to many other towns of it's size, is pretty good. Overall, Palatine is a friendly, safe, happy place to live. Read More

Capsule of Palatine Il. - 4/16/2006
Palatine Il. is a good mix of lower to upper middle class. Good mix of housing and rentals. There are some small areas of high crime, but they are rather confined and gang related. Very good public and private schools. Lots of shopping areas. One of the top ten libraries in the U.S. for a city it's size. Overall.. a very good suburb to live Read More
