Park Forest - It is Coming Back! - 8/16/2016
I'm happy to share that it IS coming back. I'm very thankful we found this community. Our family (husband, wife, 1 young child) recently bought our a little house here in Park Forest. After four months I'm delighted to report that we LOVE our new home and community! We've been enjoying all of the beautiful nearby forest preserves, hiking, the Park Forest aquatic center, library, and lots of nearby shopping and restaurants in neighboring communities. The cost of living here works well for our budget. We are in Will County section of Park Forest, and are happy with the Crete Monee School District so far too!  Read More

If Only It Could Come Back - 2/16/2014
Park Forest is beautiful, but it's going down. You can see tons of green, an excellent library, but also plenty of vacant buildings. In its hay day, it must have been beautiful, but now, it seems it's an empty shell. There is not much business to speak of, and there are definitely safety concerns. Don't even think about going to the fantastic forest preserve. Cook County cannot patrol this far south. And, there is that fact. Park Forest is on the southern tip of Cook County. All the city taxes with no city benefits. I wish we could Read More

MEMORIES gone forever - 1/28/2013
No disrespect to the remaining officials and friends from my upbringing; but, leave town. I read how Park forest continues to fight off urban decay. It's simply a refusal to accept the degradation of a once proud village lost in the new world of open freedom for the criminal like behavior that plagues my former hometown. I refuse to believe I grew up in this jungle of demonstrative, self centered, the world owes me a living and I don't have to obey the laws or respect my neighbor town. Heaven help those few I know that desire to leave this world without leaving insanity and despair for a better place. Park Forest is only a holding cell for the prison releasees. Maybe the Governor of California can send all the early released convicts to their new home... PARK FOREST, Read More

Park Foerest schools - 6/19/2008
It amazes me over half of the population is white but 99% of all the school kids are black. Hmmm could it be that all the daughters and sons drop their kids at Grandma's house for the week to go to Park Forest schools? Sure it is. Out of five people on my block that are black 5 of them have kids that couldn't possibly be theirs but yet Park Forest residents foot the tax dollars for all these kids while our own kids education goes down the toilet. Now we have to pay for all the Ford Heights, Harvey, Calumet City, Riverdale, and Country Club Hills kids to go to school too. So why doesn't the school board stop it? Simple-because it would be racist! The only answer to it is to move out and let them foot the bill! After all Grandma is paying senior tax levels while schooling five children from two different Read More
