The town has a variety of recreational activities for all ages. Local attractions include the McHenry County Conservation District's Glacial Park, which features beautiful hiking trails along the remnants of glaciers that carved out many areas in this part of Illinois. There’s also Ringwood Historic Village, located nearby on Main Street. This collection of historic buildings includes a blacksmith shop and church built in 1837—it’s an interesting day trip!

One of the Best Places to Live and Raise a Family - 11/20/2008
After two years of research my husband and I decided to relocate to Mchenry County, Ringwood Il. This little town has turned out to be so much more than what it seems. It is very small and if you blink you may miss us. We have an awesome school system, one where the teacher still care. It seems like everyone takes care of their houses, and i've never heard of any crime or criminal activity in our area. What is really the jewel of our area are the nature paths, you can bike or walk. It is truly like stepping back in time, Glacier Park is unbelievable. Neighbors really look out for each other and there is a real sense of community.
