Westfield is a great Place to Live, Work and Play - 10/25/2019
The growth in Westfield in the past 15 years has been amazing. Beautiful, well-planned neighborhoods, a great variety of housing, many new amenities for residents... plus the huge, beautiful Grand Park Sports Complex which brings people from all over the world. Parks, walking and biking trails and a lot more, along with.. Excellent Schools, a Low Crime Rate, and a growing number roundabouts to help reduce traffic congestion and accidents, plus plenty of future plans to help attract more good people and Read More

Dog Life - 2/9/2014
Westfield, in Hamilton county has the normal amount of dog owners per capita. Dogs are not welcome everywhere but tolerance is getting better. The big downside is a lack of places to let your dog run off leash. There are no public (free) dog parks and only one pay dog park, that I know of, in the area. County and city parks all require that dogs be an a leash at all times. That said, I have never seen an law enforcement around to enforce it.  Read More

climate and allergies - 7/27/2012
The Indy metro has a lot going for it, but the climate -- hot, humid summers; icy, sleety winters-- is a big negative, especially if you have allergy or sinus issues. I've lived all over the country and my allergies have never been worse. The mold and pollen counts have left me with 4+ sinus infections a year, in spite of prescription medication and the best HVAC air cleaner money can buy.

I've talked to many other people with the same experience. Now I know why my grandmother used to refer to it as 'Sinus City.' Read More

An excellent place to live... - 11/13/2009
Friendly people, nice clean area with families who have values, well-laid out subdivisions, homes with yards kept up with pride, people wave hi as they drive by, hold doors open as they go in the stores with you, smile as they walk by, etc. The four seasons are nice, and no extremes. A lot of newer areas as the city is growing, a great suburb and easy to get to the city, plenty of shopping of both national chains and locally-owned businesses. Great cost of living and affordable, well-built homes and townhouses. Surrounding suburbs are very nice, too. Very good schools in the area and great post-secondary schools nearby of all types. I've lived in other towns and cities around the country CA, IL, GA, MO, WI and this is by far my Read More

suburb of a suburb but proud of it - 2/10/2009
We are not trying to compare to the huge growing and rich neighboring suburbs around us. That is precisely what makes this place have more potential for a cozier and friendlier place. But this is always tough in sprawling suburban Read More

Excellent Place to Live and to Raise a Family IMHO - 2/14/2008
My wife and I have lived here for 3 years and we really like it. Overall, the cost of living and housing is good, and the taxes are moderate vs. other states I have lived in (especially OH and IL). You are close enough to Indianapolis for excitement, if you like it, but far enough out to feel a little "country" if you prefer. The schools are excellent, crime very low, and quality of life exceptionally high. People are friendly and seem to be balanced (liberal vs. conservative) in their politics, seeming to be generally tolerant of others' differences so long as they are not causing any harm or disruption to someone else's rights. This is probably one of the best places I have Read More
