A Great College Town - 7/30/2017
I lived in Cedar Falls while attending the University of Northern Iowa. It's a great college town. Main street is nice and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. I enjoyed my time in Cedar Falls.

The water is heavily chlorinated so I recommend a water filter. Housing prices are higher here because of the University, but it's possible to find an affordable place without a lot of trouble.

There are a lot of outdoor places to explore, and the Gallagher Bluedorn brings in some great performers. There are always games, events, plays and shows on campus.

Neighboring Waterloo is one of the most dangerous cities in the state, but Cedar Falls is nicer with less crime.

Winters are harsh in Iowa. Cedar Falls is extremely windy, especially on campus. The wind and bitter cold can make winter's downright miserable. Read More

Cedar Falls OK - 3/22/2009
I've only been here 4 months for work and due to the weather haven't been out much; but from what I can gather it is a good place. The people are friendly and say they like it here. It is a college town and has plenty of dining and entertainment along with cultural and sporting events. I counted the parks in the area once and there were 16. Tons of outdoor activities. Shopping is not great but o.k. Crime is comperable. Overall I would say it would be a good place to live if you can stand the winters. The one really bad thing about it is the never ending 40 mile an hour wind. My face gets frost bitten or wind burnt every time I step out. Personally, I hate the cold so I wont be Read More
