Huxley - be aware before you move! - 3/25/2011
I am born and raised military so I have live many places in my live. The City of Huxley is nice but you pay a premium for this "small town" living. We finally moved away form Huxley 18 months ago because we were so sick of the cost. We purchased an equivalent home in a different town and our home insurance and property tax combined are less than what we paid for property tax alone in Huxley. Water is an absolute joke, every month we lived there our bills were $100-$200, for just my wife and I. My neighbors who had 3 teenage girls never paid less than $200/month. For the last month we lived there we didnt even use the water and our "base fee" as they call it was $50, so you snow birds can figure on paying $50/monthly while your away. We had the option of turning the water off, but decided not to burden the people who bought our house with a $150 reconnect fee, I should have just walked out to the side walk and turned the knob on the water cutoff, that would have been the fastest Read More
