Nonstop harassment by city! - 4/29/2011
If your thinking of buying a home in this town, DON'T! I've owned & restored many homes in the central US in the last 30 years, & have received nothing but praise for my efforts from local governments. I purchased an older solid cinder block home in Goodland less than 3 years ago, & have been under constant harassment by the city, since purchase! This winter they condemned my building without due course, based on LIES(I've been accused of everything from harboring insects & vermin, having the property littered with junk, to being a public health hazard), but they absolutely refuse to provide proof (photos,video) of their fantasies. The property was rented when I purchased it, but due to the national & local economy, it was soon vacated. I have been unable to rent it since. The building is empty, but by no means decrepit, & is being repaired. Granted, the building needs work, but there are no broken windows, nor vermin, & no junk littered about the property.
