We've lived here for 25 years. There aren't many places like it in the US. Many wonderful neighborhoods. Friendly people. Reasonable cost of living. Great weather ( OK, so we have a few hot and a few cold days, it's Kansas, already). The spring is glorious. The fall is awesome. The winter is tolerable. I'm sorry to differ with you, but I have lived in Leawood for almost 7 years and have been miserable nearly every day. It's either 100 degrees or 10 below...not much in between. The weather is brutal here. And is it flat... They have pretty much paved over the prairies and thrown up big ugly boxes for homes on tiny lots. No soul here at all.
