One year look at Louisburg from an outsiders persp - 9/12/2016
My family relocated to Louisburg KS from the desert Southwest one year ago and we couldn't be happier with our move to the Midwest. Louisburg KS is essentially a suburb of Johnson County Kansas which consists of many cities and townships. Louisburg is a small town of about 4500 and while it has all the qualities of small town America, it's still only a quick 20 minute drive to just about anything you need and 45 minutes to everything Kansas City offers. From what I've seen in the year I've been here is that Louisburg is a combination of life long natives of the town combined with the growing commuter appeal of city folk looking for the qualities of small town America. The town is great and the quality of the schools here is probably as good as it could get from public schools. I'd even go so far as to say equal to some private school quality from where we moved from in Albuquerque NM. Climate has ups and downs - 7/10/2014
Louisburg is in Eastern Kansas about 30 miles south of Kansas City. Some stuff I LOVE about the climate and weather here are the storms--they're usually not TOO bad, just fun to watch-- and the spring and fall seasons are just gorgeous if not a little too short. Summer and winter are very pretty too, but in summer I find the heat and humidity oppressive. Winter usually gets a fair amount of ice and snow, not too much usually, but enough to make driving nerve wracking sometimes. Plus it tends to be super cold (even below zero) for a couple months.
