Danville is a small city located in Boyle County, Kentucky. Despite its size, this town has a rich history and is home to many attractions and activities that make it a great place to visit or live. It is known for being the first town west of the Allegheny Mountains and for hosting the Great Revival Meeting of 1801. Danville also boasts some amazing parks and recreational areas, such as Constitution Square State Park, which houses the original courthouse where Abraham Lincoln practiced law during his younger years.
Those who have visited Danville have nothing but positive things to say about their experiences. People find it charming and unique compared to other cities in Kentucky. Along with all the historic sites, visitors can enjoy shopping, dining, or simply taking in the sights around town. The locals are described as friendly and welcoming of visitors from near and far. Those looking for some outdoor fun will find plenty of opportunities here ranging from fishing to camping, hiking trails to picnic spots. All in all, Danville is a great place filled with lots of things to do that make it an ideal destination for anyone looking for an adventure or just some time away from home.

Crime is Danville, in Kentucky really is driven, in my opinion, by the economy and lack of higher education. There is great opportunity for the area to grow in the next 5 - 10 years; Lexington is growing quickly and the horse industry is a driving part of that growth.
Crime is predominately non-violent, though in the last two years I have been here, murder may be on the rise. The state is still...innocent enough that a murder anywhere in the state is headline news, so my perception of the prevelence my be due to the news coverage. Low income and poverty play a large part in the rise of crime, and central Kentucky has been home to many light industry businesses that are relocating out of country, only adding to the problem of employement.
Danville is a pleasant commuhity - the downtown is charming, and though it lacks many amenities today, like Lexington, there is growth taking place.
