Pretty nice but a little strange - 9/2/2018
I moved to Owensboro last year (KY is my 6th state) and these are my thoughts so far. The good: Owensboro is a nice size of about 55,000 not too big or small, there's plenty of stores and places to eat. The Riverfront area called Smothers park is very beautiful, the downtown area of a few streets is as well, there are a few other parks that are nice in the city and a pretty decent bike path but it could be longer and lead to more stuff. it is pretty easy to learn your way around also if you like second hand goods there's 2 goodwills and a few indoor flea markets, Traffic is not as bad as Bowling Green, most parts of the city look nice and there's some stuff around to do. The Bad: a few areas are pretty run Down even main through ways such as on Triplett a few blocks around the intersection of 18th wheres Gabes tower is, Gabes is a big abandoned round building that used to be a Hotel and now is a symbol of downtroddeness. but they did build a farmers market that is nice a few blocks Read More

Think Twice - 6/21/2018
Owensboro is a hot, humid hellhole! The people are not as friendly as I thought they would be...they absolutely destroy the English language, there is NOTHING to do. The water is disgusting, the air quality is bad and everything socially is built around church. I am not religious so that is a problem for me. They're politics is uninformed! It's a narrow-minded place and VERY VERY RED!!! I just do not fit in here! Looking to relocate Read More

California Here I Leave. - 4/25/2017
Owensboro seems like a pleasant enough town; at least from what I have seen and read online. My parents were from this town. Of course, and by all accounts, it looks nothing like it did in their time. We visited Owensboro from time to time when I was young. I am originally from Louisville. But I have lived in San Diego for 40 years, and I am tired of living red in a blue State. Read More
