A wonderful place to live and dine - 1/13/2021
I just recently moved to Jennings and my family and I absolutely love it. The people are amazing and so is the food. We have yet to find a restaurant we do not like. If you like flavor and seafood this is your place. You can purchase live and fresh shrimp, crabs and craw fish right from the boat. The Cajun culture is also fabulous, extremely nice and inviting group of people down here. There are plenty of things to do with in a short 45 minute drive any direction. I moved here from beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. Jennings is between Lafayette and Lake Charles so if you want decent shopping, libraries, movies, parks etc you have to drive 40+ miles in either direction to get to these things. If you would like to find a cheap place to live to come to to die Jennings would be a good place. I would not raise children here. The mind set of this community is not progressive at all and the culture, in the whole of southwest La, is basically "don't confuse us with facts our minds are made up". Not very tolerant of any other peoples or cultures that come in to their area. These cajuns are territorial and they can have it as far as I'm concerned. Real estate prices are outrageous considering how far you have to go for movies etc. Rental properties are high and not in very good condition. Like I said, a good place to Read More
