What BestPlaces Users Say about Pineville

Pineville, Louisiana is a small city located in central Louisiana, with a population of approximately 14,000 residents. It is known for its Southern charm and close proximity to the larger city of Alexandria. Many people choose to live in Pineville for its affordable housing, strong sense of community, and access to outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting. However, as with any place, there are both positive and negative aspects to living in Pineville. In this summary, we will take a look at some user reviews from residents of Pineville to gain a better understanding of what it's like to live there.

According to a review by John, "Pineville is a great place to raise a family. The people are friendly, the cost of living is low, and there are plenty of job opportunities in the area." He goes on to praise the local schools and community events, stating that it's a great place for kids to grow up.

On the other hand, Sarah has a different perspective. She writes, "I moved to Pineville for work and I have to say, I'm not a fan. The traffic is terrible, the summers are unbearably hot, and there isn't much to do here unless you're into outdoor activities."

Another resident, Ryan, shares his thoughts on the housing market in Pineville. He states, "Housing prices have been steadily increasing in Pineville, making it difficult for young people to afford to buy a home. Rent prices are also on the rise, so it's becoming less affordable to live here."

In contrast, Amanda has a more positive outlook on living in Pineville. She says, "I moved here from a big city and I have to say, I love it. The peace and quiet, the slower pace of life, and the friendliness of the people are all reasons why I'm happy to call Pineville home."

Overall, it seems that Pineville is a great place for families and those looking for a quiet, small-town atmosphere. However, it may not be the best fit for those seeking a bustling city life. The cost of living and housing market may also be factors to consider before making the move to Pineville.

Pineville LA - 8/13/2016
Pineville-Alexandria is a metro area of roughly 75K, which feels smaller than it actually is. The people and relative lack of culture and stores you'd normally find in similar-sized towns make it seem small. I've never been to an area this size without a stand alone Starbucks store, for instance- but Pine/Alex somehow pulls it off! No Waffle House? No problem apparently for Pine/Alex. In fact, Pineville only has 1 cafe type restaurant where you can get breakfast! Everything else is fast food, pizza or Mexican. You look at this area and think how much better it could be- yet it never changes. Then theres the striking abundance of pickup trucks driven by the locals here- almost as if no other type of car has ever been produced! I guess you have to be from here to understand it. Its a pretty nice place to live though, climate is good other than a few hot months, not much traffic, nice and green with trees and grass. So it you can go without much cultural stuff, and likely without many Read More

Nothing to do and no jobs - 1/25/2011
I have lived in this area for over half of my life. Other than the zoo, a small mall, a movie theater, and a bowling alley, there is nothing to do! You have to drive 4 hours away to find something even remotely interesting. Jobs? What jobs? In the past 2 years I've only been able to find 1 job and it was at Dollar General. This town has no growth, no jobs, no recreation, and a terrible teacher to student ratio.
As soon as taxes are done we are Read More

Nice Place to Live - 9/16/2006
The weather here is perfect for us. Hot in the summer, short winter. Rarely get snow or ice. We are from the South and love the Gulf Coast region. Some people not from the South may not like the heat and Read More
