Hot, Humid, but Gorgeous Spring Azalias! - 6/3/2021
I am 67 and have lived in Sulphur most of my life. We have experienced 4 major hurricanes in the last 16 years from September 2005 (Rita), 2007 (Ike), Laura in August 2020, and Delta 6 weeks later in 2020. Today is June 3, 2021, the start of the 2021 hurricane season, and we have not nearly recovered from last year’s hurricanes. I would move if I could. We do have some beautiful days!! Around March through April the azalias are gorgeous, and the weather is often wonderful! During the summer the weather is very hot and humid!! Hot, humid, sweaty weather can last from May through September or even October. This last winter we experienced unusually cold weather and had a rare snow and freezing temperatures for over a week. I love the trees and green grass, but the hurricanes of the last 16 years have been responsible for the area losing about 2/3 of the trees. I love southwest Louisiana, but I would like a summer home elsewhere to escape the humid heat! Read More
