I was born and raised in West Monroe. I currently reside in Monroe, but I teach in West Monroe. There are pros and cons about West Monroe like anywhere else you may live.
Pros:
Great values, wonderful place to raise a family, lasting friendships, friendly people
Teachers that work really hard and love children and to see them learn
Just in the past year there have been several new big businesses come to town and more are on the way.
For what you may pay for a shack up North, you could buy a mansion here
Many churches and groups to be a part of
Southern hospitality
There is entertainment that comes like the fair, circus,festivals, we have a zoo, parks, river, lakes, theaters, clubs,

Cons:
If you have a degree in anything other than teaching, nursing, pharmacy, etc. then you won't find a job here
Teachers have a lower salary along with others
They say crime rate is bad but that is only in certain areas..I Read More
