Life in mio

I have lived in mio almost 20 years and I have disliked it for most of it. The schools are lousy, people are judgmental, there are alot of teen pregnancies, the housing is cheap because most of it is junk. I would not recommend mio for anything other than camping or fishing. camping is not that great

Clean Air

Mio is a small village. It is located in the AuSable River Valley. The air is some of the cleanest in the U.S. and so is the water. The AuSable one of the nation's cleanest premier trout fishing rivers runs through it. All of this is also nestled in the Huron National Forest - no wonder the air is clean, another reason is that it is not an industrialized

Small, beautiful, friendly place to live

We moved here from a bigger town 3 1/2 years ago. My husband used to have a chronic cold and now with the clean air his cold has disappeared. The village is small but not non-existent, the people are friendly, the housing is very affordable, the water is clean, there's so much mother nature that everyone can use it's amazing! If you want a varied night life this is not the place to come but if you want a peaceful, unharried lifestyle in a beautiful area with fishing, hunting, orving, snowmobiling, tubing down The Ausable River - one of the country's cleanest premier fly fishing and canoeing rivers, then check out Mio.
