Culture and Recreation are Close to Home - 6/22/2007
We do have hay rides available here. There are many activities available through the churches, also.
The good news is that we are half an hour from the Toledo Zoo, COSI (the science museum in Toledo) and the Toledo Museum of Art. There are many great activities so close to home.
In addition, we are about forty five minutes from either Ann Arbor or Detroit, making either a perfect choice for a day of fun or a night on the town. The good news is that, after you're done with your activity, you can retreat into the peace and quiet of your home here in Ida. Talk about having it Read More

Education in Ida - 6/22/2007
In addition to having one of the best school systems in the county, our town is well known for the excellent education for the hearing impaired. We have excellent monitoring of the students. Parents are involved with their children.
For post-secondary education, we have a local community college. On that campus one can earn a four-year degree at an extension of the university. There are also colleges in Ohio that allow Monroe County residents to pay in-state rates through reciprocity Read More

Temperance and Monroe have the larger grocery stores. Because they are a few miles out, we tend to wait until we need more than just a few items in order to save on gasoline. There is a small grocery store in town.
For the health care professional or retiree, this is the perfect community. There are many hospitals in Toledo, which is about a thirty minute drive.
Due to the slow down of the auto industry, the price of housing is lower than one would expect. One could get into a 2000+ square foot home on five acres for the low 200's. Since it is a buyer's market, bid low and live Read More

Climate - 6/22/2007
The weather here is a little more extreme than in the city due to the open area. In the winter the snow will blow across the open fields. In the summer it is hot, but cools down nicely in the evenings. There isn't much cement here to hold in the heat.
It is green here in the summer and oh-so-quiet year Read More
