nice place to live - 8/11/2009
Linden is a small town with a good mix of people. There are a lot of snobby moms who run around the schools thinking they are cool but really look like idiots. The school has always been good to my son but he's only in third grade. By High School they will expect him to be an athlete and if he's not the other students and teachers will treat him like an out cast. Crime is really not a problem in Linden, I've always felt save here. There is very little to do here. There is a nice beach in the summer and a sledding hill in the winter. There are a couple parks, a crappy bar, and a coffee shop. Linden is very close to Fenton for some shopping but if shopping for clothing you can go to the ghetto in Flint or drive all the way to Brighton or Auburn Hills. Because VG's grocery store has a monolopy on the area you have to go to at least Howell for groceries at a decent price. Over all it's not a bad place to live, the only thing stopping me from buying a house here are the super high taxes Read More

Linden Public High School pressuring my son to qui - 2/26/2009
My son does not have enough credits to graduate this year. His councular and tried other ways for my son to be able to attend other places to get his credits and to be able to get a GED but those places cost money; that I do not have. My son came home from school today telling me that the school told him his last day of school there is next Friday. They are telling my son that there is no use for him to continue to go to school because he will never be able to obtain the credits that he needs in order to graduate on time so they told him he is done next Friday. How can they do this? How is this legal for that school? Doesn't the state give public schools funds for each student; so Linden has already received their funds for my son right? Does the school have to pay the state back that money? My son does not cause trouble for this school. I do not understand how this school can do this. Are you able to answer my questions? Thank you
