A place that doesn't want or accept outsiders. - 5/31/2012
We moved to Marilla, not knowing about Marilla township. We just wanted a place to retire, write and silly us, love animals and nature. We built! Big mistake, when we built there were others who also were building, they were charged for nicer homes much less than we were. We had to hire an attorney to get rid of two buildings that were not on our property, it was expensive and sad.
The township board makes no excuses about saying how we (and others) are not wanted, no strangers allowed,but if you don't move here, want a hunting cabin then you are tolerated.
People who have built here from outside pay more, are treated badly and really landed in the mist of a culture foreign to my upbringing. I thought we were all Americans, but were not.

The flip side of the coin is we love Michigan.
