Marshall has gone way down since the time I was born to today. Downtown used to be services with things you needed, back when. Now it's a few bars, antique stores, and that's about it. It does have a hardware store downtown, and still has an excellent local owned Rexall. If you look at pictures from the city's history, you can see how Michigan ave really turned into a slum like extension of Battle Creek.
