I'm going to make my review very short I know it's going to sound a little long but I just love Brooklyn Park and I have to express my feelings about it. I grew up in Brooklyn Center in the 80s. I'm 55 years old I have two adult children they were raised in North Minneapolis and South Minneapolis in their teen years. My husband now we got married a few years after meeting we decided we wanted to buy a home. I looked in different settings our spot that we really wanted was the Richfield area, because we were in love with the area and we lived there for quite a few years. Homes were too expensive so when I got a realtor she suggested Brooklyn Park because the homes and Townhomes were at a cheaper value we looked at quite a few homes in Brooklyn Park, a couple in Maple Grove but we did find one townhome off of 101st and West River Road which seemed to be a totally different city. Growing up we never went no further than the area on Brooklyn Boulevard but I love the area I like the Read More

Hidden Gem - 10/3/2017
I will start off by saying Brooklyn Park is probably one of the most underrated cities in the Metro. Minnesotans who haven't lived here often have a stigma about Brooklyn Park as having high crime or being "ghetto" as a some ignorant people have said. The fact of the matter is its a very diverse melting pot of people from all over the world; whether being newly settled or looking for a cheaper place to live. There has been a lot of growth and investment in the area and is home to the Target Headquarters.

There are essentially 2 different parts of Brooklyn Park. The dividing line being 85th st. Anything on or north of 85th has been mostly built within the last 10-15 years. This is where the city hall and post office are located, the Edinburgh golf course, new schools and transit, Mississippi river/park, and all of the new construction homes. More of the investment appears to be happening in Northern Brooklyn Park as that is where the remaining open land is, as well as a Read More

In the country? - 9/10/2009
I have lived in Brooklyn Park Mn for 16 years now (in Minnesota most of my 62 years) on the West end of town and life has been very nice. The Brooklyn Park area was originally lots of Potato fields and farmers for the most part have sold their land to developers and lots of new houses have gone up but there are still corn and soy bean fields withing a few blocks of where I live. We are still close enough to major roads to get to where we need to go, but it is like being in the country, now if the whole place were just in the "south" where we had no winter life would be Read More

Affordable Living and Diverse Lifestyle - 12/16/2007
Brooklyn Park has an wide variety of home styles and prices. Everything from one or two room condos, townhouses and apartments to the mini-mansions of homes over four thousand square feet. Some are subsidized for affordability and other could stretch some of the largest incomes. The wonderful thing about this is the amount of diversity it creates within the community and the school Read More
