Affordable but on the rise - 12/24/2007
Maple Lake is a modest community, classified as a rural small town. It is 35-40 miles from the Twin Cities 495 commuter highway system. It's tax base is small, but growing a little, due to new housing developments and an expanding industrial park area. Houses here seem to average about $10,000 dollars less than nearby Buffalo (our nearest retail hub, 7 miles away). Property taxes are not crazy high, but not cheap either.
