Ok, here is the real deal, with lots of zeros - 9/19/2009
Zero crime! Crime in Avilla, Missouri is some kid stealing your lawn ornament or something (several years ago I think they caught gas siphoners at the School - the crime of the century there). I believe the last fatal car accident anywhere close to Avilla occurred thirty years ago. No crime, No traffic, No crowds, No noise (except from roosters and coyotes), nice flat & straight roads (in case of a little winter weather), No gangs, No homeless people, No city taxes, No city government giving you crap about building a fence or painting your house the wrong color, good hunting, good fishing and good neighbors, and the big towns are not too far away, but far enough. A place to love - 8/11/2009
This is a small community - everybody knows everybody (and everybody's business too!) Mainly Agriculture and related work (not much in the way of jobs!) Basically out in the middle of no-where, but if you like a quiet, cheap place where you won't be bothered (unless you want to be social) you will love Avilla. Lots of "older folks" because most of the younger people move away when grown (because of limited opportunity there). This is a place that changes very little over time, and the locals like it that way. The size of Avilla has remained relatively the same since it was founded in 1858 (zero growth).
