Olivette, a St. Louis family gem! - 5/3/2009
Olivette is a jewel in the St. Louis area. It is the most affordable town in the sought after Ladue School district. Our neighborhood elementary is a wonderful community of exceptional teachers and great down to earth families. Old Bonhomme is also the most diverse school in the district. Our yearly school auction is so much fun for all of us. Young families have been steadily repopulating this former baby boom town for a decade. Housing here ranges from apartments, to three bedroom ranches, to luxury new tear-down/rebuild homes. Olivette is centrally located in the St. Louis Metro area. Close to everything--highways, mall, downtown. We are 15-20 minutes from our world class Symphony, Broadway shows at the Fox Theatre, Cards, BLues, and Rams games etc. We have great youth and adult sports leagues. Great parks. Middle class community bordered byUniversity City, Ladue, and Creve Coeur. Ladue School district. Home values and home costs have been rising dramatically over last ten years. I don't know how to access price and value. Government working hard to upgrade community image with community input; e.g. garden plots at key intersections, bike path throughout community, reworkiong Highway 170/Olive Interchange.
