I am a current residnt I. The small town of Elk Creek NE and I love it here. Yes there are a few draw backs, like it being small and boring; but it being small is one reason I love it here. I feel safer mainly because it's so isolated and nothing ever happens. One thing that I think makes Elk Creek cool is it's history. My grandmother told me that there use tone a hotel here in town and there was one and an opera house. She said that the outlaw Jessei James stayed in the hotel which I have yet to find out if it's true or not.
One major draw back to elk creek is it's directions. And people who happen to drive into town get lost and yes you can get lost but don't worry you'll have some friendly locals to help you.
