Don't believe the negative reviews. - 7/16/2017
Pahrump is a nice little town with a big future.....we've been here since 2009 from Las Vegas....and since we bought our house in 2012 our equity has went up 8% a year ever since.....and we are taking that equity and moving up north, not because anything is wrong with Pahrump the town its self.....for it is a nice, quite, safe place to live, and i have no reason to lie about it.....we lived in Vegas all of our life, it used to be nice in the '70's but unless you're rich Vegas is full of crime, drugs, and gangs.....except for the tourist areas, for they do a pretty good job at keeping a lid on most of the crime.....but it is a loud, busy traffic nightmare for the regular working man or woman.....Pahrump is not what people say it is, the traffic is very low, the crime is very low.....and i hear about these meth heads, and all the crime....i have never seen it, but of course my wife and i don't go looking for it either....but we have never felt unsafe out here, and i hear that the Read More

Pahrump the Dump - 6/10/2017
I lived in Las Vegas for 18 years and moved to Pahrump 7 years ago. In that time I have seen Pahrump go down hill fast. Seven years ago there was little or no traffic to deal with except maybe Friday afternoon. Now I can't even go down a back road without either someone doing 10 mph under the speed limit or some jerk behind me so far up my ass I need to take a date rape drug the next day just to be safe.
The people on drugs in this town is out of control. The number of homeless people has increased to. My neighborhood I moved in 7 years ago was nice middle class people, mostly retired. Now the weekend comes and it looks like Mexico City on half the street and Kenya on the other half. Everyone here is on welfare, so the 1st and the 3rd of every month don't go shopping because all the scum bags with thier 10 kids each running around buying up all the Fruit Loops and Mt Dew they can handle.
The school system is horrible, all the kids are thugs because thier parents just Read More

First Pahrump visit - 5/30/2013
During a recent trip to Las Vegas we decided to take the drive to Pahrump. It is a few years before retirement and looking for a low cost area, but close enough to a large metro for health care.
The drive was nice enough on a Saturday morning and the town seemed OK. We looked at a few houses for sale just to get an idea and prices were good. We stopped and had a soft serve ice cream at a little place on the Hwy to Kali, a quite busy little place.
Pahrump at first glance seemes like an OK place, reminded us of the little town of Pueblo West, CO only a bit bigger. We didn't talk to too many folks, everyone we saw seemed to be focused on getting somewhere.
As we drove out of town my wife said, "Pahrump seems like a decent place, but it is way too remote for my taste." Unfortunately that is the best part about the place IMHO.
The casinos, bars, and brothels did not bother us at all as we don't partake in those things. The lack shopping was OK for my wife because Read More
