Great place to retire - 12/30/2009
We moved to Spanish Springs 5 years ago. We retired here from San Jose, Ca.
The weather is great 8 months of the year but it gets cold and snows at times in the winter. The population is about 14,000 so it's not crowded and Reno is only about 13 miles away with 4 major hospitals and plenty of other medical facilities. Lake tahoe is one hour drive away and the veiws of the Sierra Nevada mountains from my back yard is stunning. If you like outdoor activities this is the right place for you. There are lakes for fishing and boating, snow sking, hunting, target shooting, motorcyling the list goes on.
Reno has many activities during the spring and summer such as the Hot August Nights car show. The people here are freindly making this an overall great place to Read More
