What BestPlaces Users Say about Piscataway

Piscataway, New Jersey is a suburban town located in Middlesex County with a population of over 57,000 residents. It is home to Rutgers University and is known for its diverse community and strong educational system. With easy access to major cities and a variety of parks and recreational activities, Piscataway is a popular choice for families and young professionals. However, before making a decision to move to this area, it's important to consider the experiences of others who have lived there. According to a compilation of user reviews on BestPlaces.net, Piscataway has received mixed feedback from its residents. While some praise the town for its convenient location and friendly community, others have expressed concerns about the cost of living and traffic congestion. Let's take a closer look at what some of these reviewers had to say.

- "I have lived in Piscataway for over 20 years and I absolutely love it. The town has a great sense of community and there are always fun events happening throughout the year. Plus, the school system is excellent and my kids have received a top-notch education here." - Sarah M.

- "Piscataway is a very diverse town, which I love. There are people from all different backgrounds and cultures living here. However, the cost of living is quite high and traffic can be a nightmare during rush hour. It's definitely not the most affordable place to live." - Jason P.

- "I moved to Piscataway for work and I have been pleasantly surprised. The town is very well-maintained and there are plenty of parks and open spaces to enjoy. It's also convenient being close to major cities like New York and Philadelphia. The only downside is the property taxes, which can be steep." - Rachel W.

- "I have lived in Piscataway my whole life and while it has its pros, there are also some major cons. The town has become very overcrowded and the traffic is unbearable. It's also becoming increasingly expensive to live here. I'm considering moving to a less congested area." - Mark R.

Overall, it seems that Piscataway has both pros and cons when it comes to living there. Its sense of community, diversity, and convenient location are often praised by residents. However, the high cost of living and traffic congestion are common concerns. It's important for individuals to carefully weigh these factors before deciding if Piscataway is the right place for them.

difficult township - 1/8/2016
While Piscataway does boast many nice aspects, the people that work for the township are not one of them. They have no interest in working with the residents of Piscataway. They have their own agenda and have no problem railroading their citizens and have no problem being rude about Read More

OK town to live - 1/8/2016
Piscataway is an OK town to live in. The schools are above average, and the majority of people are friendly. It is centrally located near major highways, and getting around is easy.

Cost of living is high between housing costs and the high taxes.Read More

Small Town Feel...Good Community - 12/30/2009
Piscataway has easily one of the most serene communities that you can live in. It is relatively safer than most parts of NJ & houses are reasonably large for the money you pay. Only pain point is the commute to NY can be cumbersome if it is a daily trip Read More

Piscataway, New Jersey - 12/6/2007
We've lived here for eight years. A wonderful diversity of people, businesses, and cultures. Great restaurants, health professionals, and services. Also a very concentrated place. Many large pharmaceutical and financial corporations are tucked away on corporate campuses. Good schools, churches, and community services. High property taxes and cost of living that must be a trade off against the educational, professional, and cultural experiences that enrich it's residents. When the time comes to desire a slower pace and fewer souls per square miles, one can look to locations only 3 or 4 hours away. This has been one of the most challenging, humbling, and enriching places I've ever worked or lived. If you long to be "in the thick of it", the viscosity of Piscataway will engage all you've Read More

Quality of Life - 7/16/2007
New Jersey is not the place for anyone who can't make a salary of $100,000 a year. The taxes are outrageous. The cost of everything has become absurd, laughable really. There's no such thing as "open space." Every possible piece of property that hasn't yet been built on will be dug up for housing or more business buildings that eventually will stand empty. This is not a town for retirees. The medical profession treats the elderly like they are lab rats. And as for those under retirement age, the medical profession treats you like you make $100K a Read More
