It is so expensive to live in this area that is still a solid 45 min to an hour from NYC. The area is nice enough, and certainly better then other Northern NJ areas in Morris and Bergen (I'm from Morris Cty. NJ) but for the money you pay for housing it is not a great quality of life.

Just poor quality of life in general in NJ. Ridiculously high property taxes, they just raised they sales tax to 7%, high state income tax, congestion, traffic. I don't really hear of anyone moving TO NJ only out of. And I'm someone who really likes NJ as a place to live in general. If it was not for the housing boom it would be fine.
