Great place to bring up kids - 5/13/2015
I lived in Sparta for 28 years and only moved away because I retired. Both our daughters went through the entire school system and received a great education. In the high school all areas are stellar but the language, music and sports programs are outstanding. Last year, both the football team and marching band were state champions. The only downside is the high property tax but this is Read More

Sparta is a wonderful place to raise a family. Sparta has a lot of organized activities plus an abundance of year- round outdoor activites. It has a number of private and public lakes in Sparta or nearby the town for boating and swinning. Sparta is also very close to State Parks that offer opportunities for hiking, picnics, fishing and plenty of fall foliage opportunities. In the winter, you are 20 minutes away from excellent skiing and snowboarding.

Sparta is also a very safe town. It si quiet, suburban to rural with a number of major corporations within commuting distance.

To the woman from Chicago...feel free to move back. Sparta, New Jersey is a physically beautiful town with much to offer. Yes, there are growing pains, as to be expected with an influx of so many relocations from out of state, and in-state. My children are safe here, within the schools and community. There's a sense of old town and new blood learning how to merge.

I wouldn't live anywhere else in New Jersey. It's a joy to come home to Read More

Sparta, NJ - 1/11/2008
I love this town. I've lived here for l0 years now and it has to be one of the most beautiful places I've lived. Small town atmosphere, with lots of amenites. Safe, friendly, great schools, and not too far from everything. The only drawback it that winters are a bit too long, the elevation is high. Also, no industry, so the drive to work or the commute to NYC is long and Read More
