Too Small, Bad schools and Very Judgmental Town - 3/29/2008
I have lived in NJ my entire life, all over. I will try to be polite in this review, but it will be hard. Stanhope is very confused; being lumped a part of two other small towns (Netcong and Byram). Grade school is terrible(approx. 375 children in ONE school K-8), cirriculum is older and no after school activities or in school clubs the children can benefit from. Board of Education is a mess, in that no budgets get passed for the kids, hence NO SCHOOL BUSES or trasportation for the Grade school in the entire town! School buses are only available to the H.S. students, since it is Regional.
Culture is terrible. Not one thing other than the post office and a Shop Rite and a dollar store quite a ways down the highway.
This is a town for the older folk. They do vote, hence no $$ for the towns improvement other than senior activites and no $$ for culture, esp. school or quality of life. Neighbors usually don't take care of their property in the main part of town, and if Read More
